Meet Licensed Therapist
Bari Berkowitz.
Bari has been helping clients achieve a healthier, more authentic relationship with themselves for over 20 years. As a licensed Psychotherapist, Bari has worked with individuals and couples providing tools and resources to navigate conflicts during challenging transitions and fluctuations in relationships.
"Change happens in stages. My role is to help clients move through transitions in a supportive way."
– Bari Berkowitz
Bari utilizes Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based technique that starts from the idea that feeling safe and deeply connected is a primary human need, and that conflict arises when that need is not met. This approach honors the full spectrum of people’s emotions and is non-pathologizing.
Bari is also trained in Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT). The premise of PIT therapy is that childhood trauma is the origin of many relational issues and at the root of codependency.
Clients have described Bari as honest and straight to the point. She creates a safe and non-judgmental space to work through unresolved shame, grief, and loss. She helps her clients to restructure destructive, non-productive habits into new and healthier responses by developing a new awareness of behaviors that have been shaped by trauma.
Bari has had extensive professional experience working in preeminent recovery facilities such as the Betty Ford Center and is currently the Family Therapist at The Meadows in Malibu, CA. She has a private practice in Michigan where she sees clients over Zoom and runs a weekly women’s process group in West LA.

Bari helped me during my divorce and guided me during the worst time of my life. I feel like I have a new set of tools to get through hard times.
"Direct but kind."
I saw Bari privately to get an understanding of my alcoholism and the cycle of relapse. She was direct but kind, and I am happy to report that I have over a year of sobriety.
"Healthy boundaries."
I needed help because I felt overwhelmed and burnt out as a working mom of three kids. Bari helped me to learn to set healthy boundaries and gave me an education on my co-dependency issues.
